Hi peeps,
Yesterday I changed the plugs, airfilter & cleaned out the throttle intake in my sister in laws Polo. Strangely when I next struck her up the tickover would not drop below around 1500rpm..
Could not find anywhere to adjust the idle, any ideas?

Thanks

Si

oops didnt see a wire, when I said throttle intake I mean just below the airfilter. Would I have come accross a little wire?

MAF, will most likely be positioned slightly along from the air box. It should be held on to the intake by screws. Unclip the sensor from it and unscrew it, give it a good speay with 'wynns fuel injection intake and carb cleaner' - directing it particularly at the small wires. Don't touch anything. Allow to dry, and re fit. See if problem is still there. If problem is still there, suggests new MAF to me. HTH

Thanks for the suggestions, I will have a good look next time I am over. Sounds suspiciously like that sensor..
