Hi, ive been looking at getting a webber carb for my mk2 and a ive been told you have to have a manual choke. Is this true? And if so how do you fit it?

If anything like the Scirocco, there will be a hole in the bulkhead and a suitable blanking plate in the dash somewhere.

Definitely worth fitting BTW

I don't know if you're still interested but I have two golfs with Webers and Maunal chokes. Let me know if you're still after info. I can take photos and suchlike. I agree tho, great conversion.

Yup you do, and as Filmidget says there will be a blank on the dashboard, and a suitable hole for you to squeeze it through.

For gods sake though, make sure you get the right mounts for it, as they don't fit otherwise.

Also, get you Pierburg serviced, and you'll be able to flog it on Ebay for reasonable cash, as they are a few hundred new.
