I have a 2003 A4 3.0 Sport Cab and the 3 year Audi Warranty expires next month. Had a letter from Mondial(?) who apparently now administer Audi Warranties. Quoted me £1138 for 12 month renewal. Seems steep given that is even more than my insurance.

Is it worth re-newing or shall I just wing it? Anybody got any horror stories of having to pay for work without a warranty?

Thanks for any replies.

The Audi labour rate is probably £80 per hour. If you look at it that way it don't take long to burn the warranty. It is also a "catastrophe" insurance.

Hmmm.....Audi labour rate above £90/hr
Plus cab's having the occasional problem with the cams on the roof mechanism
Me thinks the insurance would be worth paying on your model

Thanks guys. My local dealer quoted hourly rate of £99. I thought I was expensive as a lawyer! At least Dick Turpin wore a mask. Both the gearbox and roof had problems (plus new steering rack) already so I think I will get the warranty. I would have only blown the cash on a Sports Exhaust anyway.
