Hi to all.

Time has come to replace my golf vr6 but with what is the big Q. I'm looking @ a golf mk4 gti turbo and a mk4 2.3v5. Can any1 out there give me feed-back on either car all is welcome pos/neg.

1 worry I have would be with the turbo in the gti and its reliability??? But I also like the idea of the gti over the v5 because I'm considering a revo re-map which would suit the gti.

Has any1 anymore info on the revo remap is it as good as it says???

Any info is gladly recieved

Tks

Hi Revman,

If you're after a car to tune, then the 1.8T is by far the best option. IIRC, the V5 comes in 150PS and 170PS versions, but it's not very tuneable, simply because it's naturally aspirated.

I ran the same engine in an A4 for 2 years and clocked up over 180K miles in it and never had any problems.

www.revotechnik.com are one of the top two tuning companies for VWs and Audis - they have dealers all over the UK. You could also try www.amdtechnik.com.

Just re-read my post - sorry for the confusion! It was the 1.8T in the A4. It was remapped from the standard 150 bhp to 180 bhp by AmD and it never missed a beat .
