Hello, I'm a forum newbie, so please be gentle with me! Is there anyone who can tell me how to change the air filter on a 1989 Audi Coupe 2.2e, I've just bought one of these 5 pot beauties and don't seem to be able to give it a basic service. The Haynes makes it sound easy, but having followed the instructions I'm no nearer a result. The problem is that the unfastened cover will only lift half an inch before it hits the inside of the wing despite a picture showing a guy with it at 45 degrees stuffing a filter into it! It seems the only way is to dismantle half the fuel system, please tell me I'm wrong! I am also in need of a auxiliary radiator (small one that sits under slam plate) so if you are breaking a car, have one lying around, or know of a place I can buy one without purchasing a whole system (main rad is new) I would be truly gratefully.

Thanks in advance
Audiman.

You need to unclip all the ..... er...... clips!

Theres 4 iirc, including 1 in an awkward place by the osf headlight.
Undo em and itll come out high enough to remove the filter.

HTH.

Hi Delafox, I've undone all clips, started taking off all surrounding jubillie(?) clips just in case, but it wont move more than half inch at the front before it catchs inside of wing. I cant see what is holding it on. maybe if I post a pic (is that possible/how?) that might help.

Thanks.
