anyone chipped the 2.0 TDi
Discussion
i'm looking to get a bit more of a family car instead of the 3.2 V6 TT i have at the moment, and one of the cars i'm looking at is the A4 avant 2.0 TDi s line.
a few years ago, i had a 2.5 V6 quattro auto diesel A6 and enjoyed it, but only ever got low 30's mpg, but once rolling it was reasonably quick
so, i'm looking at the 2wd 140 tdi, has anyone chipped these? did it make for a better car or just torque steer? better fuel economy?
all info gratefully received

Hi I posted a little while back, my brother in law recently took delivery of a A3 S Line 2.0tdi he had it upgraded by an official Audi software system and now sits at 186bhp and is a great drive.
It cost £360 and does not affect the warranty as it is an approved Audi job.
It is well worth it and will be considering it myself if I change my current 1.9tdi VW.

There is no official Audi upgrade, certain dealers have deals with the likes of AmD etc and they will warrant anything the dealer won't and they will arrange for the upgrade even before delivery - but it's still a bit dodgy from the warranty point of view if something were to break and you needed to go somewhere else etc.
There are loads of people that have chipped the TDi 140 engine and quite a few A3s over on www.audi-sport.net if you want to have a look?

Sorry folks it has taken me a while to reply to this, I can confirm that the upgrade is an official Audi upgrade it is done via the Audi computers at the dealers (Audi Glasgow. The car is not the DSG. The ECU was removed from the car prior to delivery and the technician hooked it up to a computer the software was delivered via the internet (apparently) as the dealers do not have access to the software.
The upgrade is FULLY covered by the Audi warranty and paperwork is provided stating that.
