A6 Avant Quattro

Hi guys,
Has anyone got a audi a6 avant quattro? Me and the wife have recently had a baby so the E46 has to go(crap boot entry size). When walking to the train the other day I saw a honking great RS6 avant go passed and it got me thinking

a) damn, that's a nice looking car
b) damn I bet the insurance must stink
c) what alternatives are there?

I know it has sold but what are peoples opinions of these?

Poor mans RS6? Are they any good?

2.7 biturbo is also worth a look if you're not after all the bling. Same engine as the S4 and will tune to an easy 330 bhp.

I don't expect one to be cheap on running but any ideas what one should expect? fuel, servicing? resale?
