just typical!!

just gonna put the old audi up for sale and the central lockin gives up......... d'oh

any ideas where i might find the relay?? the boot lock has been a bit suspect for a couple of weeks now, but today it all gave up!

ive checked the fuses and when you push the door lock on the remote, it alarms ok, just none of the buttons retract and lock

the only central locking i have now is by sittin in the middle of the car.... :-)

Sounds like the central locking pump in the book is u/s.
Any dampness especially below the o/s rear light in the boot causes the unit to fail. Do the windows work??

thanks for the reply!

i have actually removed the unit and stripped it to little bits to find the problem.
it has turned out to be the actual mechanical pump impellor thats made of carbon, its simpy fallen to pieces, this bit compresses the air and opens/closes the doors and boot, so all the electrics are fine.
i have tried to source a place to get replacement carbon impellors but no one wants to talk to me, however, i have now been 'playing' a bit more, and have made and impellor system from plastic, using the old carbon graphite blades (its a bit hard to explain, ill get some pics soon) this is with a bit of success, and as further research is made, i hope to be able to fix the problem without having to spend 300 quid on a new unit!!
