You HAVE to remove all the chav tat, and take it back to standard - those rear lights look horrible, and certainly are not in keeping with the car.

A completely standard GTi in a good state on condition will fetch twice the price you paid...

take it you don't like the 'bling' then
all the lights could do with replacing, so will do the lot
need to find the BBS wheels centers too, any ideas?

EBay is your friend for all these parts - lights can be had for next to nothing, as can the elusive BBS centres...

Lovely car looks like my new one - another PH Golf GTi owner

How many miles out of curiosity?

Got mine for £390 with no tax, 11 months MOT and a good service history and 146k miles - not been used much for the last 18 months, but when inspected it sounded good after warm, did 150 miles bringing it home yesterday and it did very well, although a bit whiffy after the first stretch, but fine afterwards.

Slight vibration from the o/s/f wheel, which the seller did mention, so will invesigate that next week and a scratch along the passenger side which I think may come out with some T-Cut etc. and a bit of elbow grease.

I'm really impressed, just can't beleive how sturdy the cars feels at that sort of mileage.

125,000 miles, good history back to 1998 but not too much before that.
runs perfect, slight slack in the rack (£30 for a new one) and slight slack in the gearbox linkage (came with newlinkage)
Other than that its great
feels like its bomb proof

... which is why the PAS versions are better. Lighter, and mush fewer turns lock to lock. (2.5 compared to just over 3.)
