ur quattro homologation

I think you're referring to the sport Quattro, which is a homologation model but isn't a WR. The difference is about 9 inches less length and 115bhp, plus other less obvious variations like 20valve engine, more steeply raked windscreen, plastic body bits and so on.
The windscreen angle came from the Audi 80 (i think they used the front end).
And the engines were built to 2.1 litres by Leman.

No, not the Sport Quattro, the 'normal' big hefty LWB original model. I have been led to believe limited numbers were made with a slightly different head casting plus a few other differences, just wondered if anyone could identify them.
Audi DID make a few oddball LWB quattros specifically a 4 wheel steer version.
Dont know of any major differences with the heads though.

Most WR's were sold with an iorn block, but some of the early models up to 83 have been homologated with an alloy block. as to how many I'm not sure...
Ian...
that is correct, my 83 Wr quattro had an aluminium engine originaly, but was changed for iron block as the head had casting flaw and started to leak.
