Hi, I have a 97' Golf GTI which occasionally stalls. This only occurs when I press the clutch down when either stopping or changing down. It seems to happen more when the air humidity is high, so when it drizzles.. not sure if this is any indication as to what the problem maybe. Sometimes I may drive it and it'll be fine... so a bit puzzling as to what this could be... ??

Any Thoughts ?

Throttle bodies might need be cleaning (common for Golf Mk3 problem)

You should be able to do it yourself.

What he said. I've not had it yet, but am waiting, as it seems to affect a majority of the Mk3's...

Cheers for the reply Tuscan... Don't mind getting my hands dirty, although I haven't a clue where the throttle bodies are .. Is it simple to do ?

My 16v did this and it was the coolant temp sensor
