Cheers Gav, probably a little too far away from me to be honest.

I've been on some of the Golf forums and found Volkscar in Dartford, although they are quoting what seems like quite high prices to me, £80 for the front bearings, £120 for the CV joint.

I've got Volkswagen Spares about a mile away, alas they only do parts, but recommended a place in Charlton I might give a go.

More SW than SE London but used to use Peter Norris in Clapham.

Never had any complaints and certainly cheaper than the VW stealer.

That'd be ideal thanks Paul - right around the corner.

Mk2 - do it yourself!

Very simple car, very easy to fix. Buy the parts from ECP, buy a toolkit (if you don't have one already) and get stuck in!

Seriously, saves you loads of wedge, much fun, great satisfaction, and you know it has been done properly.

Would do and looking forward to at some point (have plenty of tools - all clean!), just a distinct lack of time at the moment, especially with the TVR needing some work doing too, so want to get a few niggles sorted and know its alright.

Then, after that it'll be
