VW Golf MkV - GT Fsi or GT TD 140???

Hi, I've been looking at these Golfs (also new Civic & one year old Volvo S40 2.0D) as the next possible vehicle. Any thoughts on these?

Also, what exactly is VW's 'climatic' semi-auto air-conditioning in relation to normal manual A/C or fully-automatic electronic climate control?

I've got a 2.0 TDi A3 and recently had a 2.0 FSi as a courtesy car

I don't like diesel cars especially but the TDi is way superior to the FSi
