What a beast my new Ibiza Cupra is!!!

I just can't believe this car isn't raved about more. Car mags bang on about the Golf GTi, the VXR and the Clio 182 Cup. Yet here is a car that has the ability to humble them all... yet you don't hear anything about it. Madness

Anyway,

I've heard mutterings that there is a VW/Seat approved engine remap for the 1.8T 20v that takes the Bhp from the dizzy 180Bhp to the stonking 225Bhp as found in the Leon Cupra R.

Does anyone know more about this official remap?

225Bhp in an Ibiza is a mind blowing prospect, and if its done without invalidating the warranty then thats just too tempting.

dont think anything is approved,,,unless you live in Spain, where SEAT do offer something or Greece, where Revo is offered by the importer.

From what I've gathered there are no dealer approved upgrades in the UK, however there is no way of telling if you've been boosted without them taking the chip apart. My mate's just had his Ibiza Cupra upgraded - he's chuffed to buggery with it. Still doesn't match my LCR though!

Can't see that they'd approve it without the intercooler to keep the engine at a sensible temperature, otherwise they'd be risking warranty claims when the oils in the turbo gets too hot.

Also the 225hbp cars have the better brakes and other goodies to allow them to handle to extra power to the front wheels, so I can't see the manufacturers approving push a car beyond its limits, besides the insurance they run the risk of having customer run out of road etc.

You'll find that SEAT UK don't support any performance software upgrades on cars done through UK dealers. However, you'll also find that numerous dealers actually do there own thing, or have a good relationship with their local tuner. We deal with alot of SEAT dealers in the UK that offer warranty on upgraded cars.
Without other bolt-ons it's unlikley you'll see a realistic 225bhp from you Ibiza, more likely 210bhp with around 235ftlb of torque... still no slouch!

What’s the likely upgrade I could expect on my new shape Leon (2.0 litre TDI)?

Jabbasport are doing a remap for the 2.0 TDI which will take it from 140bhp to between 178 and 185. Torque increase from 236Nm to 330-340.
Costs £475.

I had my Leon Cupra 1.8 petrol done by them, and it transformed the car.
I'm based in Kent, but it was well worth the trip to Peterborough. Could be worth checking with Revo dealers a bit closer to home though.
