A6 2.5 V6 TDi SE

I'm thinking of changing the Octavia RS for something a bit better on the juice as i'm doing 400+ miles a week and spending silly money on fuel.
I know where there's a very nice '99 A6 2.5TDi V6 SE for a very sensible price, A1 condition, Full Audi History etc.
Anyone had one? How do they drive, what's the fuel consumption etc etc. Most of my mileage is motorway / DC A roads these days.
Any info is appreciated :)

Never driven one, but I've been in one that was a taxi after a friday night in the beer, and I was impressed. Loads of torque, as you would expect, but it also seemed to rev well for a diesel, and it was quiet and refined, the engine note was much less dieselly than the VAG 1.9 TDI engine. As for handling, I couldnt tell you because it was straight up the motorway, but it did ride well and was very luxurious and spacious. Personally, if you got one of these, I dont think you would miss the performance too much of the RS, especially if you chipped it.
