Just got a 1995 S2 and have a few questions...can anyone help.....

1. My ABS light comes on when it feels like...any ideas......
2. How can I upgrade the brakes without buying 17" wheels??....mine a 16" at the minute....
3. Any good independent Audi specialists in Nottingham?

Cannot think of any more at the moment....

Cheers for any replies

For your brakes you need to get in touch with Bry at:-

s2avant@blueyonder.co.uk

He sells a kit which uses 314mm A8 discs and Porsche 996 monoblock calipers and a custom made mounting bracket, all of which will fit under a 16" Avus alloy, and all this literally bolts on.

I'll get back to you on the audi specialist as I know someone who works for Audi that is setting up on his own soon.

All other information go to the S2 forum at:-

www.s2forum.com or www.s2central.com

It's down at the moment, been hacked I think, but it should be back up soon. Incidentally if your interested there is to be a big gathering of S2's this weekend at Castle Combe, up to 40 cars expected for the Audi driver / Autometrix track / Audi day.

Mike,

I think a company called C&R are still in Nottingham, but I am not sure if they are any good, there is also an Audi/VW place in West Bridgeford, it's just past the Merc (B&K Thomas?) showroom, but a bit further down as you go out away from the city centre, again I am not sure if they are any good but may be worth a try. I've not lived in Nottm for a few years now, but always took my Audis to the Gti Service Centre in Basford and then Arnold, but sadly that's not there either.......

I had an intermittent ABS warning light on my S2. It turned out to be brake dust interfering with the ABS sensors. Keeping the wheels clean and an occasional wipe of the sensors did the trick.
The brakes were pretty pants really. Fast road pads made a bit of difference but I was never completely happy with them.
