I am considering one of power upgrades offered by AMD/MTM for my A4 2.0TDi and was wondering if anyone had gone down this route and what their thoughts where on the product and increased power. I have read on some forums that people are seeing higher MPG.

Cheers
Paul

Also have you heard about serial port tuning which has the original factory program retained and is switched over by the driver as req'd.

I recently organised a group buy for AmD remaps. One of the chaps with his A3 2.0TDi got the following results and was VERY happy with it:

Before: 144bhp @ 4000rpm and 243lb ft @ 2317rpm

After: 190BHP @ 3800RPM AND 328LB FT @ 2100RPM

They are running an offer where you pay no VAT at the moment.

Do you know if that was a stage 1, 2 or 3 ? Going on the figures I'd say a 2 ???

I've got an MRC chip in my S4. They have a great reputation, but i'll reserve judgement on mine. I think it might have something to do with it not being fitted by MRC, but it's needed the wastegate modifying and that's not really a good thing.

Paul,

Have also just bought a mk5 2.0 GTTDi Golf.
Am hearing reports of a fully warrantied VW ecu upgrade by ABT and I am looking for more info - will probably go for it!

All chips are stage one, stage two is usally the addition of exhaust and induction and chipped again to match.
