I'm considering a Fabia for my wife, up to 2 years old. Is it worth seeking out the more powerful 115 bhp engine? Does economy suffer with the higher output engine at all?

My wife has a 2019 Fabia SEL 110hp. Over the 94hp it has a 6-speed gearbox rather than 5 & rear discs rather than drums. The engine has impressive torque for a 1.0 litre 3-cylinder at 148lbft. A great little car I really like.

A friend's wife has a Polo with the 94hp engine & it's mpg seems similar to the 110hp. A bit better around town but worse on rural roads & motorways.

Both will be pretty similar on MPG overall as stated by previous poster, very economical engine. Would say it just comes down to how much performance the driver wants.

I have the 116 lump in a Scala with DSG box - it drives way better than I expected & does 45 to 50mpg.

Next year I intend to replace my 2018 Leon FR 1.4TSi DSG with a Scala SEL 1.5TSi DSG. Probably a 2024/2025 model. What's your general option of your Scala?

Mine is (I think) one level up from poverty spec.
The climate control is excellent, DSG is very good - there is reasonable torque from the 3 cylinder turbo lump which is matched so well to the gearbox, I don't really bother with flappy paddles or sport mode. Really good smooth ride, but horrible over speed bumps. Nice comfy seats as good as my previous Volvo. I think all the latest models have the virtual cockpit. LED lights are good.
Basically it ticks all the boxes as excellent VFM, well made & a reasonably designed car.
I live in SE England, so there is little point in having a more powerful steed. For enthusiastic driving I also own a motorcycle....

I'm picking up a new Fabia Monte Carlo 1.5 tomorrow. It's been such a long time since it was ordered (end of May) I've forgotten what it comes with.

Pity the weather here is going to be crap over the weekend, was looking forward to giving it a good shake down.
