Refurb Turbo A3 - supplier recommendations & what to avoid?
Discussion
A3 8p 2.0 tdi 140
Going in the garage this week, need to source a refurb turbo and to then send them mine.
Anyone who's bought one recently recommend a good reliable supplier with best prices.
And are there any brands you recommend I avoid - need it to last, hoping to get 2yr guarantee on it.
Thanks for any info

Been good for me, and pricing competitive. Those turbos were never especially durable, if you want a proper job on a refurb don't buy a cheapo one.

Just wondering - is it worth chucking say £2k at your car? Might it be more cost-effective to trade it in for a newer car in the long run (5 years, for instance)?
Or, since this is PH, why not upgrade the turbo for more powerrrrr?
How attached are you to the car? I mean, I'm pretty attached to my old TT (worth about £2k, had about £3k chucked at it over the last 3 years) and if I was told by my local garage that it needed a new turbo, I would probably upgrade the turbo.
OTOH if it's just a car to get you to work, it might not be worth the expense.
