VW Tiguan Service Gaps
Discussion
Hi All,
I've got a VW Tiguan on lease with VWFS and slightly confused - my next oil service is due in 400 miles however 'general' service due in 1800 miles. Is it normal for them to be so close to each other?
Also, with this being a lease, does anyone know if this can be done by an independent using genuine VAG parts or needs to be done with a VW branded retailer?
Thanks

Just get them both done at the same time. As the oil service.
It will depend on your lease paperwork. Tbh for the sake of an extra hundred quid or so I’d just get a VW dealer do it to save any risk of problems when returning.
I would imagine you would need somewhere that at least can update the online service record. Any good specialist can do this but as above it’s probably safer to just get a dealer to do it to avoid any arguments.

Thanks SteBrown91 - makes sense. Just got a call from a branded garage offering to do both for £260 which seems reasonableIt will depend on your lease paperwork. Tbh for the sake of an extra hundred quid or so I’d just get a VW dealer do it to save any risk of problems when returning.

You'd need to check the terms of your specific lease; there is sometimes a stipulation that maintenance is done by a franchise dealer.
Oil change and Vehicle inspection are separate items, commonly done together for convenience. One does not automatically include the other.
Thanks - just checked the contract and it does say it has to be done by an authorised dealer so won't bother going elsewhere for the sake of a few pounds. A local garage has quoted roughly what i'm getting from VW so no issues.Oil change and Vehicle inspection are separate items, commonly done together for convenience. I found out that the car is on 'flexible' service so kind of explains the short gaps between oil and first service
