A3 question about Satnav and also ACC
Discussion
Hi, I have recently bought a 2022 A3 S diesel. The satnav on the screen (or the cockpit) does not show the speed limit anywhere and I cannot see an option for this in any of the settings, - am I missing something very obvious? The car does not have a fwd facing camera,, just S spec. Every satnav i've ever had always shows the speed limit (which it knows from the map data). I can get around this by using Android Auto maps.
Also, the satnav licence ends in mar25 - if i do not pay for renewal, does the satnav function still work as normal but just not update map data?
Finally, the cruise control stick has the +/- for ACC but does not have the licence for it - does anyone know what the cost of this would be (for say 3yrs or lifetime etc) in the UK ? Am in negotiating with the dealer I bought from (a Skoda franchise) about them paying for this as it was one of the functions i was clear i wanted and was assured it had this - my golfs iu've owned in the past had ACC and I found it brilliant on long Mway journeys.
Thanks in advance!

Nav will work without updates, it simply won't update.
Does ACC show in the features shop? This thread may be useful:

Many thanks. I don't really have a problem with the concept of paying for map updates (in the old days, discs were hugely expensive). I do think that functions like ACC should not be - and ACC as an example are either standard or an upfront option on a golf (or certainly were with my last one).
for now, i cant access the shop bcos i cant complete the registration on the myaudi app as i don't have the original 10 digit security number - audi helpline was actually v helpful - it seems i need to have a video call with my V5 (which has yet to arrive) and drivers license, in order to get the code (bcos you can access the car via the phone app, its high security im told). So until i can get the app working, i cant access the shop!

After the license expiry (at 3 years old), you'll have to pay for map updates. This can be done via the MyAudi app for £115 a year. This also gets you online live traffic updates, 3D city view, online POI search, parking at destination info, satellite map display etc.
For the speed limit display functionality, that's another additional cost option you can enable in the app. You'd need to pay for traffic sign recognition, you can pay £1 for a 1 month test or £75 for a year or £375 for lifetime purchase.
I think you can also buy ACC functionality in the app also if your car is equipped with the right hardware (i think you should be able to get it if your cruise control stalk has the 'set distance' control on it. My car doesn't so I don't see this option in the app store to get the cost info.
