Bonnet modification 'thing' on VW Caddy. Removable?
Discussion
I'm shopping for a VW Caddy, some of the ones that come up on the market seem to have a ludicrous Dennis Healey eyebrows-esque body modification on the bonnet. I've no idea what the point of this is apart from to make the vehicle look stupid, but I was wondering if they are easily removable without causing damage? I don't want to ask the sellers as they clearly think it looks good so don't want to risk hurty feelings and thus lose bargaining power. But likewise don't want to be buying the vehicle if they don't come off.
Here's a photo, looks like there are screw covers/grommets of some sort.

Thanks chaps.
They do look bloody ridiculous. Interesting to learn they have a sort of purpose I suppose. I'd rather live with the stone chips.
You also see Transporters with a kind of cloth version. Is that the same kind of thing? I think an entire industry has emerged selling plastic junk to VW owners.

its a car bra, to stop stonechips, but then sratches the bonnet instead,
it should come off easily,
That's a spoiler. Allegedly to stop chips as someone else has said. In the outback it keeps the dust of the windscreen. Here, some claim it does the same for rain. I doubt it. It's usually screwed into the bonnet. it should come off easily,
A bonnet bra is a plastic sleeve that fits over the bonnet or just the front leading edge to protect from chips. And, in doing so, rubs against the paint destroying it.
So, either way your paint will be damaged, ironically.
