Any Skoda Octavia MK4 VRS 2.0 owners on here?
Discussion
Hi,
I’m currently looking at a cheap lease on a Octavia estate 2.0 VRS which from what the lease company describe as a no option standard Feb 2024 VRS. I’m wondering if anyone has one and what their thoughts are on it?
It would be the family family (2 kids 5&3 with big awkward things not needed anymore l). I’ll be honest I’m in a 2020 x3 m40i but it’s costing me £608 a month and barely does 5k a year and I’m still just about in positive equity so can get out of it.
I know I can’t really compare the two and they are on fairly different spectrums but I’m trying to gauge if I am going to hate it or if it’s actually a good bit of kit for the money if I remind myself it’s a Skoda.
Everything I read says it’s a good overall car but the infotainment is crap and let’s it down and the fact it doesn’t come with a reversing camera as standard is also odd.
Anyone got one and able to share their thoughts on one?
Thank you!

A bit of a late reply but I have had my leased VRS for nearly 3 years and can't wait to give it back at the end of year, the infotainment is that infuriating even with the numerous over the air updates, I have also had a gearbox warning pop up on 90% of my journeys this year, I'm assuming caused by some other fixes.
It's a shame because in every other way it is a wonderful family car.

I have a BMW ix3 and recently leased the wife a VRS estate, also have 2 kids so quite a comparable situation.
I’ve done quite a lot of miles in it and must say I love it. Fast(ish) and very practical, the boot is quite a bit bigger and more usable then the ix3.
Not as ‘plush’ as the beemer but not miles away especially when you consider the cost difference which you have pointed out.
The infotainment is a little annoying on occasion. I’ve only had to do one hard reset in my time with it but deffo not as slick and useable as the bmw. But again not a million miles behind.
The no camera as standard is very annoying though. I personally missed that a lot so think carefully about how much you would need it.
Overall though I think it’s great in almost every department. Easily get 40+ mpg on a run too if you try.
Personally think it’s a great looking car too.
