How Much!? LED Interior Repair

I recently bought a new (to me) A4 Black Edition that has the mood lighting / ambient tones that many cars seem to come with these days and i'm a bit of a tart for nice lights.
Anyway - i noticed that the portion on the drivers side around the handle and down the ridge of the top of the door was bust. Had a few searches on google and heard it's common for the modules to go from over zealous power washing, rain or just general opening and closing doors too hard.
The car had a warranty, so in it went. The breakdown so far:
- Car Sent to Audi for diags and i'm told 2 separate things needed done and the bill for that was £360
- Various conclusions drawn of no power and no connectivity back to centre (i think) fibre control modules. a further £300 to have the control unit tested, which passed.
- This left the culprit, a break in a wire somewhere and they have stated a complete wiring harness replacement at a cost of over £1300.
The above will still have labour to put my car back together, which i presume is currently in a workshop and has various parts of the interior removed.
Surely they don't mean replacing the ENTIRE harness? And therefor all the plugs, routing etc that go to the various gubbins?
The car is going to rattle forever, isn't it!

That's what i was thinking but over £1k for that? Plus removal of the old, refitting (there are quite a few connectors within the door) testing, reassembly...

If the rest of the system is working, common sense would suggest it is an issue within the door, pinning it down is another issue.
Are they going to repair it under warranty ? Free of charge to you ?
The Stupidity of main agents I deal with, or maybe its not, if they sell the customer a new or newer car
I recently bought a car from a main agent, they want them offsite quickly, they had sold the customer another car, apparently because they could not fix the battery drain, or quoted telephone numbers to so.
When I picked the car up it had a head unit on the passenger seat, and one in place, and a very dead battery, the logical conclusion was to put a good battery on it, and swap over the head units, guess what?
It intruiged me enough to look a little further into it, a faulty hazard light switch was the cause,
Why anyone takes an out of warranty car to a main agent is beyond me.

All under warranty and as you're surmised it's the only reason it's currently sat in a main dealer workshop. If i were footing the bill i would use the guy i've used for years and years at a fraction of the cost. If the rest of the system is working, common sense would suggest it is an issue within the door, pinning it down is another issue.

I think i was more concerned about the definition of what they stated "New Main Harness" was needed and i've watched enough youtube vids to remember looms being laid out like the central nerve system it is.

Which warranty is covering it?
