Mk2 Audi TT

My car is due an MOT soon and was wondering if this is a failure or it would be ok.

The passenger door does not unlock with the remote or the central locking button inside the car but will unlock from the inside using the handle.

Once opened the door can be opened from inside and outside, its just the central locking that seems to be at fault on that door.

Should be fine: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/mot-inspection-manual-...

MOT inspection manual said:
Driver and passenger doors must open from the outside using the relevant control.

Driver and front passenger doors must also open from the inside using the relevant control.
Just make sure it's unlocked when you take it in biggrin

As an aside, I had 3 out of 4 door central locking motors on my mk5 Golf fail. I suspect it’s a similar part. Wasn't actually that hard or costly to replace.

Many thanks smile

They open and close just fine, just doesn't unlock! I will leave it unlocked, depends if they lock it then unlock it.

It does lock ok with the remote, but won't unlock

Actually its a bit of a weird one, as after driving for a while it will also unlock. Just seems to be the mornings.

I think probably sticky actuator, I can get a copy part for like £24 or something which was the original plan. Just never got around to it and won't have time before the MOT now.

However, think the door lock is the least of my worries. Whenever I turn the steering at low speed, like when reversing I get a strange sound. Can't hear it outside the car but like a grinding sound. It doesn't knock. Wondering if its top mounts maybe
