Me too. Standard 225 coupe with a few less horses to Clive. Just about to turn 3 years old - daily driver and never put a foot wrong.

:P O no im not working at the weekend! and also ive tested the xbox360 to death now and it has been moved into the "old work projects" corner of my office.

but cmon, I just cant see the point in these cars, they are not worthy of the quattro badge (front favoured 4 wheel drive based on the far superior Golf R32?) and I think it is a shame to the original UR 1 Quattro IMHO.

I think the R32 is by far a superior car, and the TT looks like a girls car, not to mention handles like one

But I am open minded, you guys bought one, so mabe im missing the point, I usually go for performance and looks, this car dont really have either, it looks like somthing you would turn up to a homosexual outing in, or a car that is drven by a well paid styilst called "piers" but mabe thats just me (i seriously doubt)

mabe I am missing somthing, Im all ears

Makes me chuckle how people like to take the piss out of other peoples' cars, and those other people rise to the bait.

If you don't like TTs don't buy one, simple.

It's all in the eye of the beholder. I happen to think that R32s look naff, but hey, I wouldn't post it on here!

I really dont care what your opion of the car is, I just cant believe that some peoples lives are so sad and empty that the best thing they can think of to do is to troll around websites trying to irritate people.

PH is a great site, and I think you will find that the people who responded to your original post did so in a genuine attempt to help a fellow PH`er, instead it turns out to be some overgrown adolescent (in mind if not in body) who has no better use for his time than to waste other peoples

If you really think that a piece of metal defines someones sexuality then YOU really have the problem not them, but who knows, if you ever actually get to have a woman and experience sex with another living person you may realise that yourself

Hmm. Well, I own a TT (225, revo'd). I'm camp, but not gay. HTH Out of interest, why is the TT viewed as such a gay car? For that matter, why are bikers viewed as gay icons? The leather, maybe?

I think the looks are a love-it-or-hate-it thing; I happen to love the outside, and the interior. Not a lot can be done to persuade people of the merits of something they simply don't like the look of! That said, I feel the TT has come in for a fair bit of (IMO rather unfair) criticism from people who claim it doesn't handle.

Mine is an '05 car, so it has the revised S-line suspension (lower, different springs/dampers and ARBs) and the updated Haldex controller for the 4WD - together these make the TT the car it always should have been. The Haldex controller uses a data feed from the car's various systems to engage the rear axle before the front wheels slip, rather than afterwards, and the rear will now take up to 60% of the power. In fact, after chipping, the car will drift like a good 'un! In general, I think the revised TT's handling is easily on a par with the R32's. That said, I tried a 51-plate, and found it to be as understeery as my outgoing fwd A3, so if your experience is limited to the earlier cars I can (sort of) see where you're coming from.

As to performance, well, bring your R32 to Kent and we can have a little race... I'd be prepared to bet real money that the TT would hold its own.

Personally I wouldn't have one, the same way that I would't have a convertible.
Do I think they're feminine ? Yes
Should that matter a jot to anyone else spending their hard earned ? Of course not.

Ducati dude -

"front favoured 4 wheel drive based on the far superior Golf R32" ?

R32 is based on Golf 4motion which went on sale in 2000.
I think you'll find TTs were out before then.

In short you should get a life instead of coming on here baiting people.
You obviously have nothing to contribute & know all to boot.

He does have a point about not being worthy of a quattro badge though. The haldex system has none of the merits of the original quattro design principal.
