Ambient / Contour lighting fault?

Before I call the warranty folks wanted to check here. My new to me Audi has ambient / mood lighting that is customisable.
Everything seems to work except the drivers door lights do not.
There is power to the door card as the lights around the speakers and lock light etc all illuminate but I think the contour (surface?) lights are a separate module that have 2 I dependant LEDs. One for showing internal locking / opening and another for the.colour changing light bars.
Happy to take the door apart and have a look, I’m no stranger to stripping bits off. It the car is under warranty and I read it might show under a diagnostics of no communication to the light module.
