Looking around at options to replace my car in the next year or so (2017 BMW 430d) and want petrol, 200+ BHP, 4WD. The Audi 245 BHP Quattros are quite rare and expensive used so I thought the Octavia petrol VRS but this is FWD.

Reading up on the new Octavia there is going to be a 204 BHP 4x4 version which might be perfect. But why have the lower power version be 4x4? Cupra also do this with the Formentor which has a 240 BHP FWD version and a 190 BHP 4Motion.

Isn’t it just to push you into a golf R or an audi?

I bought a Octavia estate 4x4, 2.0 litre more than enough power, great carrying capacity in boot and plenty room for px front and rear.

Considered bigger Skoda superbe just too big for the two of us.

Well pleased with car, reservations about auto box but we will see, GM and ford have been building reliable auto bixes for years don’t understand VW redesigning the wheel, will wait and see.

I guess it depends on how old your looking at but there is an L&K 4x4 OCtavia on Autotrader at the minute.

I wanted a large estate, ideally 4x4 and petrol. I ended up with a Superb 280. Its a really nice car, i am a VW hater though so it won't end well if it breaks. It can be thirsty, if you sneez with your foot on the accelerator it will probaby cost £10 in fuel.
