RS6 spare parts
Discussion
Known issues.
The alternators were initially failing at a rate that outstripped supply, and a revised part has only become available recently. Some people who'd had their original replaced with the same part now need another replacement with the new one.
The coolant pump issue seems to be more prevalent quite recently (perhaps needs a few years of use?) and is likely in a similar situation.
Parts aren't stocked in a manner that allows a spare for every single car, and where a failure becomes common there's a long delay waiting for the revised part to come on stream.

I think I’ll wait for the dealer to fix it, then get shot. 5th and last Audi. But thanks anyway!
I realise it's frustrating, but the logic of getting rid of something instead of enjoying it post-repair I've never quite understood. Particularly when they're "known faults" rather than inherent or unpredictable unreliability.Suppose I shouldn't complain about it, as it's not uncommon to do and I've made good money as a result many times. Something goes wrong or some expensive maintenance is required; sort it out then sell the car. I get to buy it with the time and money already invested, then my customer gets it "done" and hassle free.
Fair point, but there comes a point where you lose faith in a company. As an aside, I drove my wife to hospital for the birth of our first daughter in our Chimaera. Not ideal. The next day she made me buy a proper car, so I bought an Audi. In the intervening 20 years, the TVR (still going strong) has had less problems than the Audis. Who would have thought!

The return of the car has made me less grumpy! Are supply problems across the Audi range or model specific? And are Audi any worse than other manufacturers? Despite my earlier pontificating, Mrs REM has decided she wants another Audi.
good to hear you have it back - it cant help put a smile on your face - its an epic car. enjoy. Hope you dont mind me posting a pic of my old RS6 - funny to out drag other cars when towing from lights! !!

I believe Jaguar have been having supply issues and it wouldn't surprise me if it's the same for many manufacturers. I have to say, my S4 B8.5 has been crazy reliable, even compared to past Honda cars I had. Two ABS sensors, a flexi pipe and a front control arm bush since 2021 and 25k miles (now sitting at 85k).
