Weird Arteon BiTDI Problem - Warning Lights - Advice
Discussion
Was out earlier today. Normal drive. Got a red emergency braking warning when cars in front decided to stop dead at a green light, although as always thought I had it covered with these things.
Anyway.... 5 miles along the road I get the amber "front assist unavailable" momentarily, and then again another few times before it remained and was quickly followed by similar warnings for (in no particular order) start/stop, hill hold assist, stability control, dynamic road sign function, front assist, park pilot and tyre pressure loss sensor. There was a slight hesitation from the car as all this happened, just literally a sec.
I pulled over when safe, cleaned sensors, checked tyres werent flat and had a general look over the car, nothing looks untoward.
Restarting the car, warnings remained and re-signalled and the car mechanically drove fine on the way back home.
I started the car again 3 hours later to go get the battery checked - battery is all fine, holding charge.
However when I got in it, the codes had been cleared. It was only a mile or so home and at traffic lights the front assist warning reappeared a few times and went off again. Reversed into the drive all ok, parking sensors working etc.
Use of the car in the last week or so has included no cold morning starts and two 100 mile motorway trips and its been great.
Car is a 2018 BiTDI. Ironically due service later this month which is already booked.
Work carried out on the car during my ownership apart from servicing has been the waterpump/tbelt done under warranty when I fell victim of the chocolate waterpump issue and the air con compressor was replaced last year again under warranty.
Anyone come across this before and have any suggestions?
What I found online suggested the battery but that's just been tested.

So the battery was replaced by main dealer and the fault didnt recurr.
However the temp dipped towards zero again this weekend and the fault has returned.
This time its also accompanied a damper warning as well (DCC) and the car is applying the abs on and off itself as you drive along periodically.
Back to VW we go...
I'll update the thread as others may be googling same fault in future.

Well this issue appears to be resolved according to VW.
I've only driven 10 miles but no warnings.
After four weeks with the dealer, and tech assistance from VW, they diagnosed the issue as a faulty Haldex control unit.
This was replaced under warranty.
Just updating the post incase anyone else with a Haldex 4Motion experiences similar issues. Of course this BiTDI 4 Motion drivetrain also appears in the Passat - possibly the Tiguan.
