4Motion propshaft replacement cost. - Tiguan
Discussion
The centre bearing on the wife’s 2011 Tiguan is dying. First garage quoted £2.8K to replace it, so I politely declined.
I then took it to a different garage who was going to rebuild it for me, but they took a look at it and said it was too far gone / corroded to rebuild.
They were going to phone me back with a quote for a replacement but so far nothing, which is beginning to make me think they would rather not do the job. (In the same way a quote for £2.8K does).
Autodoc has the part from some unknown manufacturer for about £400 but if a professional garage doesn’t want the job, it makes we worry how DIY’able it is.
So the question is – Has anyone had it done/done it themselves and how much did you pay?

Rather than a general garage, a driveline specialist may be a better shout. eg, one local to me, https://propshaftservices.com/

I was going to suggest exactly the same firm. Sometimes with props Audi don't sell separately what is a small/generic part and ask a phone number for a whole new shaft instead.Gassing Station | Audi, Seat, Skoda & VW | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
