I am looking at buying an Audi A3 mk 3 (2013), most likely the 1.4 TFSI petrol.

Looking for some advice regarding service history:
1. I understand these cars did not come with service books but service records are available on Audi systems. Presumably I'd need to call an Audi dealership to answer these questions - would it include independent services too?
2. Is it true that these cars give owners a choice of 'long life' or fixed service intervals? So a choice between annual or bi-annual oil change
3. Any other maintenance items on the service schedule - timing chain check, any gearbox checks?

Thanks in advance - it is surprisingly difficult to find this information online!

An Audi dealer can look it up for you, but good luck actually persuading them to do so! I don't mind looking for you if it's a car you're interested in buying. Ultimately the selling dealer should provide this for you. The portal to access this data (erwin) is free for any dealer/garage to use. Not doing so suggests laziness or lack of history.

Yes an independent could/should be logging services, but in practice they often don't bother or simply don't know that they can.

For most drivers in mixed use:
Oil svc 1yr/9k
Oil & inspection svc 2yrs/18k

Brake fluid 2 years
Pollen filter 2 years
Spark plugs 40k/6yrs
Air filter 40k

That engine with an auto doesn't have a scheduled gearbox service.

Thanks Dr G.
Dealer says the car was last serviced in 2019 but is out getting a full service at the moment.

In two minds at the moment, since 3-4 years with no oil change feels long. Will probably leave it.

But thank you for the kind offer to check history for me.
