Just picked up a 2019 Golf Alltrack with a 1.8 EA888 engine in it. I've noticed it has a little bit of oil splatter around the alternator side of the engine. I don't see anywhere obvious it might be coming from. Where should I be looking? Anyone seen this before? Many thanks.

Spillage most likely.

Timing covers can leak on these but it's not common.

With hindsight I was starting to think the same. I've cleaned it off to see if it comes back! =)

Yes, looks like it was a spill during the oil change just before we got it.

Did a 300km round trip on Saturday, including a run up Mt Glorious near Brisbane. So the whole car got a good workout and not a new spot anywhere. =)
