Hi,
we ve a 2012 latest shape rhd uk beetle,
the carpets have been wet for quite a while on the drivers side front, and i just cant seem to get to the bottom of it,

The water levels not dropping, the scuttle panel appers to be dry and clear, ive lifted it up and had a torch down there and no water is present,
ive had a good feel and a clear round the top of the frameless door seal, and there seemed to be a narrowing of a little in built channel, ive cleared that and had wd40 and grass strimmer cord down it,
ive cleared that, and still the same, theres no after market stereos or anything like that added, its completely standard,

it doesnt thave a sunroof,

but the carpet is soaking around the inbuilt rubber section on the drivers side, i cant get to bottom of it and the various fb groups im in cant see to get to the bottom if it

its driving me crazy

any pointers?

Take all the carpet out to the bare metal, and you may be able to see where it is coming from.

They need lifting anyway to dry everything out properly. There may be electrics under there.

I hate it when this happens.

Ask on VW forums.

Different car, but the same group. The Mk1 Fabia would leak via the door panels. Rain would enter the car instead of exiting via the drain holes. Worth a look?

As above, door inner panel seals are a common issue.
Run a hose on the window with door closed and see if the water runs out at the bottom between door card and door.

On other makes of car I’ve experienced the air-con/climate control condenser drains blocking and overflowing on to the carpet, may be worth checking?

I’m at the end of my rope.
Scuttles clear, had the arch liner out Thsts dirty but not blocked
Pulled the carpet out as much as I dare dried it off, cleaned all the door seals and tried the door Thsts fine, tried the bonnet cable into the scuttle Thsts seated correctly, aircons rarely on it’s wet after rain, I’ve took a bung out that vw under sealed over. I’ve tried drying and clearing any Channels I can find but it’s mainly dirty but not blocked.
Any ideas greatly appreciated
