I have a GOLF GT TSI EVO 150PS (2019) with ACC.

Is it possible for the ACC to be upgraded to include the Speed Limit function.

Have a superb with ACC and to have the system that reads road signs you need to change the electric sensor in the windscreen.

As far as I understand it, the speed limit is set by the driver and it does not have any need to read signs.

I have the same year and spec car with ACC and inbuilt speed limiter. I read the handbook several times but it still took a number of attempts to work out how to set the speed limit function.
It's not at all logical unless I have it completely wrong. You have activate ACC, bring up the menu that includes speed limit using the buttons on the left steering wheel spoke, use the up and down buttons on the right spoke and the press OK. You can then select the speed as you would for ACC and press set.
I did say that it wasn't logical!

Like you I eventually worked out what I should do. But there is just a little problem. I get the display with ACC and Speed on it. The ACC has a ticked box beside it and the ACC works as expected. BUT the Speed entry doesn't have a little box beside it. If I highlight the Speed entry and then press OK I get the message "Press Main button" and nothing else happens; the ACC box remains ticked. And I have no idea what or where the Main button is. That's when I assumed the Speed function wasm't installed.

The only way that it will work is to set the cruise control as normal but at say 20mph so that it is active and the lower green speedo is showing on the display. Then bring up the menu, highlight speed limit and press OK. This will put it into speed limit mode and you can then select a speed and press set.
It took me several tries to understand how I could make it work.

I'm beginning to think I need to borrow Dr Who's sonic Screwdriver to get it working confused. I'll try again tomorrow as its dark, very cold, and my car is slowly turning white with frost.
I'll get back to you tomorrow. Thanks for the help.

Sinplified version:

Left hand spoke:
Press top inside button then bottom inside button to bring up the menu
Right hand spoke:
Use up and down arrows to highlight Speed Limiter
Press OK button.

You should now be able to sett the speed limit using the silver toggle on the left hand spoke as you would for cruise control.

530dTPhil - Thanks for the information. I found that the following was exactly what I needed.

The only way that it will work is to set the cruise control as normal but at say 20mph so that it is active and the lower green speedo is showing on the display. Then bring up the menu, highlight speed limit and press OK. This will put it into speed limit mode and you can then select a speed and press set.

Thanks or all your hard work.

regards,
Bob

If you look at my previous post, 'Simplified version', I discovered today that you don't need to set a speed on the cruise control before bringing up the menu.
If you follow the simplified instructions, it's fewer button pushes and it does work.
Every day's a school day!

I've got a question regarding the reverse of this.

Got a new Mk8 Golf R & it has ACC & Speed Limit display, but i'm not keen on the 2 being linked as with all the roadworks in this country & signs left over that possibly have no relevance, i'm finding that on the Motorway, my ACC adjusts itself frequently & therefore unwanted.
