MK5 Golf door lock issue

My partner has an 07 MK5 Gti and the door locks are ALL playing up.
They either lock and won't unlock, unlock but won't lock, or neither, seemingly at random.
We got replacement locks, I swapped one out and it had the same symptoms which seems to suggest it isn't the locks themselves maybe?
Is there another module that controls them, or any ideas what might be going on?

Check for water ingress. The comfort control module sits under the passenger floor and if it gets wet that all sorts of electrical mysteries will happen.

If you can pull the back seat bench up you should be able to slide your hand down behind the carpet down to the floor and find out if the floor under the carpet and soundproofing is wet.

I thought the same thing. Symptoms are right for wet convenience ECU.
