So, I have a somewhat obscure vehicle (Dodge Journey) from their brief UK foray, MY2010, that has a 2.0 PD engine in it. As you can imagine, sourcing parts in Dodge references is almost impossible, as they have no real european presence (and the prior one was fleeting), and the US don't have the diesel variant. At that, it seems like the other variants (in Jeep, Chrysler and Dodge 'CRD' format) all use different PD variants too - but at some point there *should* be a crossover from a VAG setup.

I've picked it up with it being more Bodge than Dodge, and one of the bodges is the EGR cooler connecting pipe. It looks like it has been 'made' from two pieces, or someone has done a catastrophic bodge to make the oil filter access clearer (not that it is required).
I don't want to take it off at this stage, as I still need to use the thing in the interim, and I have a feeling the 'custom' nature of the job done to the one fitted is doing to make it a little redundant to compare anyway. There are no part numbers on the pipe at all, unlike most VW equivalents.

It looks like this:
(arrowed, for clarity)

You can see in this ebay listing that the pipe is different to the one fitted above in mine

Although, here's another listing of the same engine, car, year with a different pipe again

The orientation of the flange to the cooler is more vertical (if not 11 & 4 in clock terms)

The turbo is mounted higher up, with the EGR cooler below it:

The Dodge diagrams I've found list it as 5162048AA, but the orientation of the flanges don't seem right (they both look to be mostly horizontal, when the cooler side is nearly vertical in application). The VW variants all seem to be variations of 03G.131.521, but they do vary wildly.
The Chrysler Sebring seems to use a 03G.131.521T, but it looks like that is maybe the 5162048AA equivalent that isn't the one.
The closest I've suspected so far is a 03G.131.521N, with the flange orientation, but not so sure about the overall shape.

Can anyone help figure out which one it might be? Or even the engine code for this particular beast? Dodge call it an ECE, but that isn't a VW one, and I'm not convinced it is a BKD (although some of the other Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler formats look like a BKD)

Cant help much but have you had a look at the diagrams here?
You may get lucky if you pick a Golf or Passat that had the 2.0 pd in it (year escapes me)

Looks a similar set up to my PD170, I removed that pipe and blocked it at both ends as it snapped, Eventually I fitted a full EGR and ASV delete.

They all appear somewhat similar, but have subtle variations. I've ordered a 03L131521 and a 03G131521N to try.
I wouldn't mind blocking it off (usually do where I have a diesel), but I wasn't sure if it was likely to trigger a CEL.

It's making a sort-of whistly/whining boost noise, and there's no play in the turbo, so it's also an unlikely, but secondary, effort to rule out a really obvious bodge that could be a slight exhaust leak.
