Tiguan Mk1 water ingress into the electrics?

The wife’s Mk1 Tiguan is showing some slightly odd electrical behaviour when its wet. Started off with one of the sidelights not functioning when wet. Now the indicator in the driver side door mirror has taken to flashing a different pattern to the rest of the car when the car is locked, again in the wet.

I assume this means that water is getting into the electrics somewhere, but it’s a bit of a needle in the haystack job. Do these cars have any common weak spots I should be looking at?

I have seen some mention of the sunroofs, but it doesn’t have one of those.
