1.6 TDI 115HP Remap ?

I just wondered if there are any real risks to a stage one remap on an 18k MK7 Golf. Superchips do one where the technician comes to your house. It’s a 115HP 1.6 TDI. Has anyone had it done and what was the result. Many thanks

I cant speak for the golf although that engine was remapped a lot by the caddy owners, never heard anything bad come of it. Always heard it was a massive improvement.

As long as the map is from a reputable company you should experience no issues, just make sure you read their small print regarding any issues if they do arise.
I have no direct experience of that car though sorry but any other car ive had done has been transformed and had zero issues.

Just bear in mind that "Superchips" are no longer Superchips that everybody knows, they are owned by a company now that also runs "Remap Kingz"

You would be better looking at Revo,APR,Racingline.

Thanks for the replies I will have a look at the companies suggested. It does feel a bit flat on initial pickup so hopefully a remap will improve it.

Just had a quick look doesn't look like any of them offer files for the 1.6 115ps but might be worth checking with Racingline they might have a file for the same engine but in a different car/van.

I have used Avon Tuning to tune my little 0.8CDI Smart recently via a local tuner and the file seems quite good. They do list the 1.6 but not 115ps model.

Idk where you are but a big name amongst said caddy owners was dubunit in the midlands. Theres also darkside developmemts in barnsley.

I know what you mean about the flatness thing, when i had the caddy it used to do it although not all the time. Iirc im sure i was told it was the update they did for the emissions thing amd could be reversed??? This was the guy that did my cruise control but this was years ago so may be mistaken.
