Hi, I’m hoping someone can help that had either a Seat Leon/Skoda Octavia PHEV with the 1.5tsi/13kw battery pack. We’re looking for a new car, currently have an Insignia 2.0 CDTi auto.

I have questions around the app/heating functionality and would like real world owners experiences.

1) can you remotely warm/cool the vehicle?
2) is there an annual subscription for remote functions? If so how much is it?
3) can you set a daily schedule for the pre-heating?
4) if the car is fluffed in charging, will it use the energy from the wall to heat the cabin leaving you with max battery for range?
5) what really world mileage have you been getting from a full charge? My daily commute is exactly 30 miles
6) do any of these vehicles have a reversing camera? I’m struggling to find which models do!

1. Yes
2. No
3. Yes
4. I assume you mean “plugged”, yes.
5. 10-20 miles, but it will then switch to the petrol engine, so kind of irrelevant.
6. Some do, but mine doesn’t.

Actually, mine is the old 8kwh battery, you should get a bit more range with the 13

I have a Cupra Formentor 245 Hybrid, I assume it has the same hybrid hardware as you’re looking at:

1. Yes, even when unplugged.
2. Yes - First year ‘free’, years 2 & 3 for £99. Basic functions are free, advanced (I.e. hybrid) you need the full app.
3. Yes, and charging (e.g. for cheap overnight tariffs).
4. Yes
5. Supposed to do 34, does about 30 but really depends what regen opportunities you have - high speed kills the battery, towns, hills and bends are best for max miles. Will still use ‘hidden’ battery reserve for hybrid use on petrol when battery is nominally empty.
6. Yes

It's actually the older 1.4 engine rather than the newer 1.5.

I have a Cupra Leon estate (so essentially the same as the Formentor mentioned above).

I usually get 20-25 miles but I drive mostly on NSL roads and usually slightly above the speed limit. I also accelerate WOT most of the time as it's a bit slow in EV mode. Driving gently at lower speeds I've seen over 3mi/kWh which would translate to over 30 miles.

Weather makes a massive difference. Cold temps and standing water both make a noticeable difference.

I don't think you'll reliably do all 30 miles on pure electric (especially in winter) unless you never go above 40mph.
