VW 2.0TDI - Timing Belt - Technical Bulletin

My Passat is in for a service. I highlighted a noise at idle from the belt side low down. Seems a common issue and my research it would appear to be oil pump noise which is normal but wanted it checked whilst under warranty.
However dealer have advised there is a technical bulletin for 'lubricating the belt'. The advisor couldn't tell me any more than that as probably not in their area of expertise. I don't get the car back until tomorrow, however wondered if anyone was aware of such a technical bulletin to lubricating the belt or have heard of such practice. Sounds a bit strange to me and likely to have been lost in translation between workshop and call handler.
