Fuel filter for Audi A6 Quatro bi-turbo 2.7
Discussion
My colleague has the above make of car. It has always been serviced by Audi main dealers from purchase (2001 Y plate)
The night before he was due to go on holiday, driving the car down to the south of France, he noticed a very strong petrol smell, and upon closer inspection, noticed petrol leaking from the fuel filter by the wheel. He called out the AA, who replaced the part, but the AA guy was very suprised to find that it was the original 4 year old filter still on the car! He stated that this part should have been changed at least twice already, as it was very corroded to the point that it was leaking quite a fair amount of fuel!
My collegue rang Audi UK about this, and the fact that on his service bills, as per service schedule, the filter should have been changed.
Their technical department told him that they never change the fuel filter on all petrol models apart from the RS6! This can't be right, can it?
Cheers

This fuel filter SHOULD have been changed.
Thasnks for that, any advice on how he should preoceed now, as Audi are isisting that the filter should not be changed, but a filter, by definition, filters out unwanted particles, so logic dictates that these particles would eventually build up to such an extent that the filter becomes useless, and needs changing!
