VW oil spec 511.00
Discussion
I serviced my wife’s Leon tsi back in Jan with Quantum 5w-40 as the manual says 502.00 oil is suitable for the fixed term/annual interval as opposed to longlife. Looking at the leftover oil in the container, it’s actually 511.00 spec and not 502.00 which I thought it was. Is it likely to do any harm or shall I do an oil change with the correct spec?
There's a list of the VW numbers on the Opie site: https://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-742-vw.aspx
I suppose you could try and compare oils from the two specs.
I know they're not Quantum oils, but that level of detail isn't on the TPS site.
Dealers don't even use the right oil - one of our cars is supposed to use VW508 and the dealer claimed they'd never heard of it, they put VW504 in. Apart from any detail spec differences, they're different viscosities.

Most oils are backwards compatible, unless it's a specific blend/additive pack oil to address a particular problem, such as old PD engines chewing through cam lobes.
511 will be fine.
I use Fuchs GT1 Flex 3 5W40 in both my 2009 MK6 2.0 TDI and my 2016 330d, which is 511.
Aka, Quantum Platinum Plus 5W40.
