Hi everyone looking for a vw sharan or seat alhambra 2005-2010 1.9 tdi for reliability.I know there was oil pump driveshaft failure on the 2l tdi which would be devastating if I got a engine with common oil pump problem. But I have noticed that there are two different 2l engines 1968cc tdi vs 1986cc tdi.Which one sufferd from oil pump problems or do I keep looking for the 1.9tdi?.Thanks for reading.

As far as I know all VAG 2.0 diesels are 1968cc. The difference is between PD and CR. PD is the pumpe duse, the earlier version of the direct injection engine. The CR is the common rail injection version which is a later version of the same engine.

I have run many models with these engines, never had an engine problem with them.

Ok I have heard of some 2l tdi's suffering from the Worn oil pump hex drive shaft.

Wasn't it the later 2.0 pd engine as its known to have the most issues?
Not sure what year it was or the engine code.
