Wife's S5 Convertible had 255/40 R19 tyres when she got it, and were replaced with the same.

TPMS alert came on last week so have been checking tyre pressures etc.

Pressures were around 25/26 all round, I suspect fitters just set them all the same

Her tyre size is not listed on the drivers door plate, they have:

245/40R18 or 255/35 R19 and for two people it shows F39 R35

Should we use F39 R35 or should they be different?

Been searching all morning, but google is not my friend today.

I think you have to set the TPMS once you’re satisfied that the pressures are correct. Garages and tyre fitters never re-set them when new tyres are fitted.

Yeah I know it'll need resetting or it'll moan, but I can't find the correct pressures smile

Ah OK, I understand. As identical advisory pressures are given for two slightly different tyres, both of which seem to be not too dissimilar to yours, I would have thought that they would be OK for your tyres.

Thanks, I was thinking much the same but given my knowledge of tyres are that they are round, black and somewhat essential I didn't want to do anything stoopid wink

Indeed, there's really not much difference so I agree.

That said, F39 R35 seems a little high for a lightly loaded car? My S4 Avant (so presumably heavier) shows F36 R33 for 255/35 R19 but I suppose a couple of psi shouldn't matter and, personally I'd rather be a couple over than under especially given that the heavy loading shows 41 for both.

No 255/40 option shown on mine either, seems an odd size to me?

Only the second owner, Audi Approved from a main dealer, only 20k miles so I'd have thought they would have been original fitment.

Weird.
