I am looking at options for a new (used) van type vehicle and these Kombis look just the ticket. The ones that have a second row of seats then van behind them.

My question is, are they an actual proper model from VW? I will need a certificate of conformity to import to France, and if its not a standard manufacturer vehicle then I will run into issues.

Thanks

Yes they are a VW Model.

We just bought a high line one for work and it’s fantastic, can do 40mpg on a run if careful, which i wasn’t expecting

Are they a car or van on official paperwork?

It's classed as a car on the M6 Toll if that helps?

The road tax on my LWB kombi was as a commercial vehicle, and hence subject to different speed limits to cars.

ah ours is a SWB. It's in that grey area "officially" and they removed the tax benefits for them a couple of years ago (for company car purposes they are a car, but have a payload over 1t for the 30 and 32 models
