Auto-Electrician advice required re' fitting additional DRLs
Discussion
I would like to know if DRL's like these can be spliced directly into the existing DRL loom on the 2022 T-Roc R facelift ? I can wangle a way of fitting one set each side of the VW logo in the top of the front grill. The electrical connections would be done professionally, not a DIY jobbie but can they be spliced directly in to the existing DRL wire on each side or do they need some extra electronic voltage regulator/resistors/management or whatever to protect the oem DRL system ?
Does anyone know ?
Thanks
Brian.

You want to splice some cheap (I mean really really cheap) chinese crappy LED into a nearly new VW?Does anyone know ?
Thanks
Brian.
Why would you?
In answer to your question as to why I wish to fit extra DRLs to my T-Roc .....the oem fitted DRLs are very low down on the bodywork and are not bright, they have a diffused type glow. Extra DRLs fitted into the top of the grill will improve the visibility of my car to other drivers. It is as simple as that.

Fair enough, however I would suggest looking for a branded set. A quick google:

The cheaper option of course is to put your dipped beams on.

Don't know specifically for the car but it's unlikely there is a simple 12V feed to the lamps you can tap into easily, as it's likely all integrated into a control module and then controlled by that.
There may be a way to code the car so the headlamps are on all the time, which should achieve your "more visible" goal. It also wouldn't look st like aftermarket DRLs do.
There are probably coding options for making the existing DRLs brighter as well. The VCDS forum is a good place to look.

Just buy them and try fitting them into the existing loom and see if it throws up any errors, at that price, you can see them back on or bin them. They cost less than a set of beers.
Ignore the idiots with comments about council etc. they probably have council style tattoos or piercings. Or the fit the interior out with LED's instead of standard bulbs. It is funny that we have these people that love to insult council estates, but they themselves are no better.
