Audi A5 TDI service cost...
Discussion
Mrs Big Rig has a MY21 A5 3.5 TDI. Her first service has been requested by the car and the cost at Audi is just under £600. That's for an oil service & inspection, pollen filter change and brake fluid change.
Car is on an Audi lease so has to be serviced by Audi themselves or and Audi approved garage that uses genuine OEM parts.
1. The service cost seems very high to me, but I drive a 20 year old car that costs pennies to run, so maybe I'm out of touch but does that seem high to anyone else?
2. Can anyone recommend a good Audi approved in the Midlands?

On a 3-year lease it's probably the only service you'll need. Worth trying a couple of other dealers for quotes, or asking for discount.
Pollen filter is bit of a joke. It's a one-minute job to change and the paper filters are about a tenner. Audi will probably charge you £70+ to do this (and they didn't even fit it right, last time)
Ask for a quote without the pollen filter? AIUI they should still "stamp the book" without that.

It'll be on longlife servicing so effectively what's being charged for is a major service but without changing the fuel filter. There's probably 2hrs allowed for something like "extended scope inspection". Brake fluid is probably adding £100 ish.
Of all marques, Audi is the one where you see people using price match - get a quote from somewhere like Halfords - it has to be a "manufacturer service" and the dealer may or may not price match it.

There are only a few "audi approved" in the UK, who tend to be used cars and service only, and their pricing will be little if any different to the rest of the franchise outfits. Erdington approved I think is the only one in the Midlands and they're part of Jardine. You could try a specialist like Central Audi & VW.

Service RRP is £400. Pollen filter isn’t worth getting, I always have it removed as it’s £80 for something not needed in my view for a lease duration or you can buy it for £20 and change yourself after watching a one min YouTube video. I believe the major service no longer includes it though as of this year therefore you can’t remove it and save money. Otherwise the service would be near £300. Brake fluid change is fixed at around £70 at all dealers do the max you should be paying is £470 anyway. If you ring dealers such as swanswat, they typically give a 10% discount if you ask. Can't believe brake fluid and pollen filter would need changing at the first service.
