2019 A4 Avant 35 TFSI to S3

I'm lucky enough to be able to consider swapping our A4 for a recent S3. One of the things I like most about the Avant is how quiet it is. The DB's obviously increase a bit if we're really trying, but with normal driving it's very refined.

Anyone had both? If the S3 is considerably noisier than the A4 it would unfortunately be a show-stopper for us.

I have had both. Not much is as quiet as the small TFSI at lows revs. Main issue is the A3 is generally noiser than the A4 chassis wise . However it's by no means excessive imo.

In a fit of madness a few years ago we bought an A1. The chassis/tyre noise drove us crazy, particularly on stretches of concrete paved motorways. It lasted 6 months before we reverted to an A4 Avant!

I guess we're just going to have to try an S3 before we can make an informed decision.
