Hi all,

Hope you are well.

I’m currently in a X3M competition and looking to change in Q4 when the deal ends. I was debating on keeping a fast SUV but after last weekend, I’m thinking of having a daily and a something special. (Last weekend, someone damaged the drivers door in the car park).

I have always been a BMW fan for the last 17 years and the X3M is my first M car. Now, I’m being promoted in work with a significant salary increase I would like to treat myself before being forced to EV.

There’s a couple of 2020/2021 R8s that have caught my eye. If you could share your thoughts positive and negative from ownership that would be great.

Also a couple of questions:
- extended warranty cost
- service intervals
- can any Audi dealership service

Have a good Easter all.

Congrats on your promotion.
I bought my CB Performance+ new at the start of last year as a third car / everyday “ supercar “ and have done about 1200 miles in it.
Everything works as it should and no issues other than a problem getting a tyre post a puncture but that wasn’t the cars fault.
It’s too quiet ( blame the GPF’s) is about my only negative and in fairness I’m comparing that to my Aston GT8 which is secondary decatted and titanium exhausted.
Service interval is annual although you can have the interval set to extended but I don’t want that.
I think every / most MD’s have a so called R8 expert / technician.
Depreciation is an issue buying new so second hand should at least reduce that for you.
One of the reasons for buying mine was that it is going to be stop being built fairly shortly so wanted to buy one to keep - V10 normally aspirated , who knows may even be a classic one day.
Greta will hate you but whatever.

Thank you for that. That’s one thing the noise, I will need to hear one but I can’t be as quite as the X3M comp.

I’m thinking this will be a keeper.

Audi noise insulation inside the cabin is extremely good so it might be a bit noisier outside and
do bear in mind my comparator car.
If you buy a 2020 car it will probably be noisier anyway as is that pre GPF - not sure ?
Or plenty of alternative exhaust or rear silencer alternatives - Quicksilver etc.
It will be a lot louder than your X3 - it’s a V10 after all.
